Rick proposed an amendment to our current bylaws, which would need to be voted on from the membership.  The amendment would provide that we would not take political positions and if we every vote to disband the DBCA, the assets would be distributed to another non-profit organization.

A motion to accept the amendment to our bylaws by Jim Sanders, second by Nurit Bland was approved

COMMITTEE REPORTS

Holiday  - No update

Arts Festival - Rich Slabinski

Everything is moving forward with the Arts Festival.  Last year’s sponsors have stepped up to sponsor the festival again this year.

The Entertainment for this year’s festival is complete and we are 3 months ahead of schedule.  We should have an entertainment schedule done in May.

Shop Local – Ellen Mager

Tourist Commission Program is having a breakfast meeting at Market Place after the meeting today.  They have an amazing website and will discuss what they can do for you and how to promote your events on their website.

There is a new brochure to go with the shop local card.  Remember to use your card so the merchants know you are using it.

Jim Sanders suggested putting a link for the card on the County Theaters website.

Membership

Nurit Bland is stepping down from the membership committee.

Joan Doyle volunteered to chair the membership committee with Jim Sanders as her co-chair.  Colette Hern will continue with the committee.

The membership committee will work on walking around town and talking with business to bring back any comments or concerns to our monthly membership meeting.

5K – Margie Adamsky

Our current sponsor total for the 5K race is $5,250 which is up from last year’s amount of $1,700.

Thank you to Tony Morella from Fast Signs in Doylestown who is donating two new 5K banners and signs.

Many volunteers are needed to help with the race.  Please let Margie know if you are able to volunteer.

Memorial Day Parade – Nurit Bland

Town and Country will provide a flat bed truck for the DBCA to use in the parade.  We will decorate the truck with all of the events the organization supports to remind the community what we do and promote our 25th anniversary.

DBCA Liaison – Joan Doyle

Everything is quite in the Borough.

The K-9 dog passed away.  The Borough is looking to do a fundraiser to help cover the medical costs, as the dog was very sick.

The Borough is at a cross road on whether they will continue with the K-9 unit.  If you had any contact with the dog, Joan would appreciate hearing from you.

The parking garage is going well.

New Business  - Joyce Hanson/VIA

The Bucks County Designer House is located at the corner of Street and Upper Mountain Road in Solebury Township.  The House will be open to the public from May 3 through May 31.

The Bucks County Designer House is looking for volunteers to host on Friday, May 8th from 4:00 – 7:00.  If you volunteer to host you can purchase a ticket for $10 (the tickets normally cost $25) which will allow you to come back to the house as many times as you would like.

Old Business – No update.

Meeting adjourned at 8:50
