The DBCA has a bunch of committees that help us fulfill our mission. We encourage you to consider joining a committee and lending a helping hand in your community. Please send an email to a Chairperson if you are intersted, or contact us for details.

Doylestown Arts Festival

The Doylestown Arts Festival is a juried, two-day festival of over 150 exhibitors, live music, kids' entertainment and more. This committee typically meets monthly throughout the year. Volunteers are needed both on the committee and also the weekend of the festival to help with various tasks. Visit the festival website for details >

Holiday Committee

The Holiday Committee is responsible for decorating Doylestown for the holidays (cleaning, hanging and taking down decorations and putting up Santa's house) and organizing the celebration of Santa's arrival to downtown on the day after Thanksgiving. The committee is also responsible for organizing Santa in his house on E. State St. throughout December.

Annual 5K Race

This event is held each year on the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend. Our race is one of a series and has the distinction of being the largest with over 900 runners annually. This committee meets to organize the event registration, course monitoring and after-race proceedings.

Flowering Hanging Baskets

From Spring through Fall, lovely baskets hanging on historic streetlights throughout the town are filled with live, colorful plantings. This committee typically only meets for volunteer days which include planting the baskets in April, hanging the baskets in May and then taking down the baskets in October.

Downtown Merchants

This is a group of local merchants working together to bring business to town through events and other opportunities. Merchants need not be a member of the DBCA to participate, though membership only supports our overall mission to keep Doylestown wonderful, which in turn, keeps bringing potential customers to town.

This committee communicates internally to help get the word out to local media about DBCA events.

Membership

Membership to the DBCA is rolling, so it continues throughout the year. Committee members are always working to recruit new members and come up with new ways to bring fresh faces to the group.
