From Spring through Fall, lovely baskets hanging on historic
streetlights throughout the town are filled with live, colorful
plantings. Working with the assistance of Geerlings Garden Center and the Borough Shade Tree Commission, this project
has been recognized numerous times by the Central Bucks Chamber
of Commerce in their "Bucks Beautiful" program.
In 1999, the DBCA received the Bucks Beautiful Leader Award
for "Advancing the Beauty of Bucks County." As of
2007, there are over 375 baskets throughout town.

Members volunteer their time and talents to decorate each
historic streetlight. Santa arrives
in Doylestown every year and is welcomed by a cheering crowd
on the Friday after Thanksgiving. Entertainment, cookies and
cider and a tree lighting ceremony are all provided through
efforts of the DBCA with help from the Doylestown Borough
and its police and fire departments. Children can visit Santa
and have their picture taken with him in his house throughout
the holiday season.
Committee Chair: Cathy Hoot
